The information on this site is general information, not legal advice. Do not rely on it for your own case. Reading this site, calling, or sending a message does not make you a client or create an attorney-client relationship.
Outcomes vary. A past result does not predict or guarantee the outcome of any other case. Every case depends on its own facts and law.

What these pages are
The articles explain federal sentencing in ordinary language: the Sentencing Guidelines, the factors in 18 U.S.C. § 3553(a), appeals, motions under 28 U.S.C. § 2255, and the statutes that can shorten a federal prison term. They are written for the person in the case and for the people helping that person. They do not cover state prosecutions, state parole, or state clemency.
A page can be wrong for your facts even when the legal sentence on it is accurate. Drug quantity, criminal history, a plea waiver, and the date of the offense all change the result. Check the date on the article. Older posts describe the law as it stood then. Where the law has moved, the post carries an update note. The controlling text is the statute, the rule, the Guidelines Manual, or the opinion, not the summary.
Contact does not hire us
Calling, emailing help@criminalcenter.com, or sending the consultation form is a request. It does not reserve a time and it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Criminal Center may decline the request. Do not send a presentence report, medical records, or other case documents until we agree to review them. Information you send before that agreement may not be confidential.
