Terms for Using This Website

By using sentencing.net, you agree to these terms.

The pages on this site are general information, not legal advice for your case. The disclaimer applies to everything here.

Sending the consultation form is a request, not a booking, and it does not make you a client. Criminal Center may decline a request.

Do not use this site to send threats, spam, or someone else's private records without permission.

The law changes. A page here may be out of date by the time you read it, so check the current statute, rule, or Guidelines Manual.

What this site is

sentencing.net publishes general information about federal criminal cases: how a federal judge sets a sentence, and how a sentence can change after it is imposed. The articles are written for the person facing the case and for the people helping that person. They are not about state court, state parole, or state clemency.

Nothing on the site is legal advice for a particular defendant, judgment, or docket. Outcomes in one case do not predict another. A note that describes a statute or an opinion is a starting point. The text that controls is the statute, the rule, the Guidelines Manual in effect on the relevant date, or the opinion itself.

Consultation requests

The consultation form is a request to talk with Brandon Sample about a federal case. Sending it does not reserve a time, does not hire Criminal Center, and does not make you a client. Criminal Center may decline a request. Reading these pages, or sending a message, does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Do not send documents about a case, including a presentence report or medical records, until we have agreed to look at them. Information sent before that agreement may not be confidential. The only email address for a notice or a question about the site is help@criminalcenter.com.

Prohibited uses

Do not use the site to send threats, spam, or someone else's private records without permission. Do not copy a page onto another site and present it as your own. Linking to a page is fine. Do not attempt to break, overload, or scrape the site in a way that interferes with it for other readers.

We can change these terms by posting a new version on this page. The date at the top of a revised page is the date of that version. If you keep using the site after a change, you are using it under the posted terms.

Send notices to Criminal Center, 1701 Pennsylvania Ave NW # 200, Washington, DC 20006, phone 202-990-2500, email help@criminalcenter.com.
